Hi, I’m Randy Golden from Medical Technologies of Georgia, and I’m here today to show everybody our MTG Mini-Pak closed-system intermittent catheter. The purpose of this video is not so much to show you the catheter but to show you the packaging options that are available.
Most companies offer packaging in one size that is fairly large and we offer that as well but we find for home use and for people on the go Mini-Pak is a much better option.
Let’s look and see what’s inside the package: our standard packaging when opened includes gloves,an under pad, antiseptic swab sticks, a gauze pad for cleanup, and the closed -system catheter, pre-lubricated. The bag acts as the collection device and also protects the sterility of the catheter.
You’ll find that the components included in our Mini-Pak version are virtually identical with just a couple minor differences. The sterile folded gloves, under pad, and you can see it’s been folded to fit into the Mini-Pak, antiseptic wipe as opposed to the swab sticks, but this does work just as well, we do have a gauze pad to clean up afterwards, and the catheter, and you’ll notice that even though it’s folded it’s virtually the same size as the one I showed a second ago. All you want to do is just straighten the catheter out for use, bring the catheter down in the bag just like so, and we’re good to go.
And one big advantage that we include with the Mini-Pak products is the privacy bag, this is a discreet disposal method to discard a used catheter and supplies when you are finished. It has a little handle on it, just open the bag and you can put the used catheter and all the supplies right in this privacy bag and discreetly dispose of the contents when you’re finished.
So let me set this aside for just a second and talk about the true advantage of Mini-Pak. As you can see it’s nice and small, this will fit easily in your pocket or purse. If you travel you don’t have to bring a suitcase along with you just for your catheters, these will pack very easily and again it’s a great product for people on the go. For work, for travel, or for kids at school it’s a great answer because you don’t have to have a separate tote just for your catheters.
MTG products are all available in Mini-Pak variety, except for our coude catheters and our gripper catheters, but every other product we make is available in Mini-Pak. This includes the Cath-Lean female variety, the MTG EZ-Advancer catheters, and our Kiddie-Kath products for kids. Cost for MTG Mini-Pak products is identical to that of our larger version, so really the preference is yours, it’s your call.
